I just don’t have my wits about me to put the photo in the post… its in the sidebar on the right.
She was born via c-section – a STAT, emergency c-section. The doctor had come over during the epidural, so when a pair of contractions dropped Olive’s heartrate low, she was on-site. She initially asked that the OR be prepped, but when the heartrate didn’t recover after the second contraction, it was a “stat” and people reacted.
I held onto Susan in the midst of all the people until they told me I had to let go at the double doors. A few minutes later, they gave me scrubs and escorted me in. I was present for the birth. Susan got to hold her briefly and then we headed to the nursery.
She was born at 12:12p, 9lbs 8.5oz, 21 1/4 inches long and an APGAR of 8.
Susan is doing fine and is in the recovery room right now for the next hour or two. We’ll provide an update in a couple hours once we’ve settled into a real room.
Thanks everyone for watching! We’ll post photos later, too.
